Luxurious Train in the World

Luxury is the theme for this itinerary that consists of a four-day luxury train journey starting in Pretoria and ending in Cape Town. On the first day, guests are advised to arrive at least two hours before departure to explore the Rovos Rail Station museum or take a site tour. After the welcome reception, guests board the train and enjoy lunch while travelling through the Highveld plains. The evening features tea in the observation cars, formal dinner in the dining cars en route to Klerksdorp. And so the expedition begins, with lunch and dinner served in the dining cars, as well as a tea served in the lounge and observation cars. Your time is your own to enjoy the scenic views as you pass them by at a wistful pace, and to enjoy your well-appointed chambers, en-suite bathroom and peaceful, quality time.

A trip of a Lifetime from

Pretoria to Cape Town

On the second day, guests have breakfast in the dining cars while travelling to Kimberley, a city famous for the discovery of diamonds. A tour of Kimberley’s Diamond Mine Museum and the Big Hole is scheduled for the day, followed by lunch and dinner served in the dining cars. The evening is spent on board, with guests enjoying a formal dress code. The third day offers guests breakfast while the train travels through the Karoo semi-desert region, followed by lunch and an opportunity to disembark and walk 5km into Matjiesfontein. Guests can visit the village museum and a collection of historic cars and railway carriages before tea in the observation cars.
