Upon arrival in the Finnish southern capital of Helsinki, your guide will meet you at the airport and you will transfer to the historic and lavish 5-star Hotel Kämp, originally opened in 1887. Here you can spend the rest of the day settling in and exploring the area at your leisure or choose from optional activities such as an intriguing gin-tasting experience, a ferry ride over to the 18th-century fortress in Suomelina, or a dinner at one of six Michelin Star restaurants in the city

The next day begins with a full morning tour of Helsinki, taking you from the Chapel of Silence and the Temppeliaukio or ‘Rock’ Church to contrasting contemporary sights illustrating the distinctive architecture, promenades and landscapes of the city. And from the bustling city, we fly north to the remote, inimitable Lapland region – where daylight is scarce and winter is cherished. The next four days allow you to fully immerse yourself in Rovaniemi, the authentic capital of the region and a world of its own. Your base will be the Apukka Resort, located between two lakes in a country aptly nicknamed ‘the land of the thousand lakes’.

Positioned perfectly to enjoy the impeccable nature that surrounds you and experience activities unique to this part of the country, your first day begins with an exciting dog-sledding adventure and ends with a hunt for the coveted scenes of the Northern Lights. Over the next three days here, you will have dinner at the iconic Ice Restaurant, newly carved each year for a constantly changing appearance; go ice fishing on a frozen lake; ride a snowmobile through the snowy wilderness; and cross the Arctic Circle to visit the official residence of Santa Claus and his reindeers for an enchantingly festive experience. Leaving Finland after all of this will feel like waking up from a fairytale-like dream!
